VPAC Programs

VPAC Programs allow students and families to have full access to the culture and environment of VPAC, whether or not they are full-time students. The roots of VPAC started as programs in the arts and indigenous healing practices. By the community demand, we are dedicated to keeping these programs accessible and available. VPAC student/family/community-led programs are inclusive of all "A" Projects to demonstrate: 

  • Socio-Emotional

  • Social Justice

  • Suicide Prevention

  • Mental and Physical Health

  • Anti-tobacco/marijuana/alcohol

  • Girls of Color

  • Boys of Color 

  • Violence Prevention

  • Gang Interruption

Student-led issues that are valuable to youth. All programs are youth-led and implemented by youth influence. â€‹

Camps- Aurora and Denver, CO

VPAC host annual summer and winter break SOULstice camps that include performing arts, math, and literacy enrichment. With measurable art integrated academic goals, these camps have provided youth with violence prevention, suicide prevention, social justice, entrepreneurship, mental health awareness, financial literacy, physical movement, collaboration, conflict-resolution, confidence-building, leadership development, diversity, equity, inclusion, goal-setting, authentic character development, STEM, and much more. These camps are youth-led and build a network of peer support that lasts far beyond camps. â€‹

Youth-Led Healing Circles- Denver, CO

Through indigenous practices that are culturally relevant to the students served, students are given the tools for effective communication and socio-emotional productivity that create bonds of trust and aid in creating safe spaces for peer-to-peer, family, and community areas of growth. Healing Circles have aided in redirecting hostile energy to one another and learning how to respect and honor the boundaries of others.​

Sankofa Well Being-
Aurora and Denver CO

Sankofa (look to the past to inform the future) Well Being is VPAC's suicide prevention, spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical well-being services that are offered through culturally relevant and indigenous practices. Through trusted established relationships, Sankofa is a VPAC process where students are in an environment, single or group, and in a program of specific to needs identified by the youth. Sankofa can be done both in healing circles and in isolation.
